Having previously won some $2.4 million in August the enigma that is ‘matronas‘ from Sweden was unable to carry it all over into September, losing a big chunk of it to Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan who scooped up a total $1.1 million at the Full Tilt online poker tables this week-end. Among other top online players ‘matronas’ and Dwan were battling it out for supremacy playing up to four tables at a time out of the eight Pot Limit Omaha tables in play. With pots reaching $200,000 and one at an eye watering $461,000 – these tables were not for the feint hearted. Having only been playing from the Friday evening to the Saturday morning –  Dwan had won $1.1 million on the Pot Limit Omaha tables, but ‘matronas’ had lost nearly one million in the process of trying assert himself over Dwan.

Back in the action

You would quite understand if the Swedish player had thought “enough” at that point and decided to take a few days off. Not our ‘matronas’! By the Saturday afternoon he was back online again playing four Pot Limit Omaha tables at a time. Although he didn’t lose quite as heavily, it still wasn’t a good week-end to be playing Pot Limit Omaha compared to his usual No Limit Hold ‘em game. The big winner in the second half of Saturday was Ashton Griffin, pseudo name ‘the ASHMAN103′, who won $1.3 million including one pot of $239,000 from Patrik Antonius.
