OK, so some bets might be below the total amount in the pot – but if someone decides to place a pot-limit bet, that could be for a substantial amount of chips that you’d need to bet just to call them! Although pot-limit is sometimes likened to fixed-limit betting, as no bet can be bigger than the pot, it really is one type of poker betting to be wary of if you’re not as experienced as the other players around the poker table. Rookie players have enough on their hands playing their cards – without having to worry too much about their stack and what the next bet might be according to what’s in the pot.
